UpToDate is an evidence-based clinical decision support resource. It contains a number of current, evidence-based summaries on a wide range of topics.

UpToDate can be accessed via ‘Non-clinical systems’ on RD&E Hub, or externally at (log in with NHS OpenAthens).

Putting evidence into practice

NICE Guidance - Evidence into Practice is an e-learning resource for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), primarily aimed at medical undergraduates but is useful for all healthcare professionals.

The e-learning offers practical advice about how to use evidence based medicine in daily practice. The information has been adapted from NICE Guidance and illustrates application of the guidance with practical examples.

Trip - clinical search engine

Trip is a clinical search engine. It is freely available online.

NHS staff have access to Trip Pro via NHS networked PCs, or offsite with registration (register from an NHS networked PC). Trip Pro is an enhanced version of Trip which provides access to additional content such as medical images, videos, access to free full-text articles and advanced search functionality.
